Nick Hubbard

Nick is an organized and committed professional with over 10 years experience in a variety of admin, IT and operations roles. He graduated from Surrey University with a 1st in Mathematics and Computing Science during which he worked on industrial placement for a software development company as a trainee programmer. After graduating he worked for a number of companies supporting global businesses with bespoke software solutions. During travels in Australia and Taiwan he worked in teaching and operations roles before returning to the UK. As a result Nick has built up a versatile range of skills including: information processing and analysis, organization and prioritization, quality/service improvement, report writing, 2nd line IT support, client liaison, one-to-one teaching and software development.

Nick has advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite as well as OpenOffice/LibreOffice including the use of functions and macros in spreadsheets to achieve complex calculations and data processing. During his work in software development he has also gained skills in database design and maintenance for MySQL, SQL Server and Microsoft Access as well as web technologies (HTML 5, XHTML, CSS, PHP).

He has previously helped run an IT drop-in supporting older people with their technical queries and can currently be found doing various practical tasks for The Wood Recycling Project in Brighton in his spare time.
